Web Home Page: Previously known as Noukloof, this reserve covers 2 766 ha of succulent karroid scrub, with a scattering of low bushes. Many interesting arid-adapted plant species can be seen here. The terrain is mainly hilly and its most prominent feature is the 760 m Ladismith Hill. Eland and springbok have been released here and common duiker and steenbok occur naturally in the area. No birdlist is available but several lark species occur. The area has a low annual rainfall (approximately 250 mm) which falls mainly in spring and autumn. Location: The Little Karoo; south-west of Ladismith. Access: From Ladismith take the R62 south-wards for 3 km. Accommodation: None in reserve. A variety of options in town, including 2 hotels, 2 guest houses, several guest farms. Camping / caravan park in town. Other facilities: Picnic sites with fireplaces; footpaths. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: 08h00 to 17h00
